It's been long I have gone out of Lahore until this Eid ul Adha 2018. I was thinking to leave for some outing and suddenly planned for Kallar Kahar area located near Islamabad. Told my family to get ready and we moved out on our journey. Summer time didn't allow us to chill but my car Suzuki Wagon R I bought in April 2018 has a good air conditioner, Masha Allah. It kept us chilled and enjoying our trip instead of feeling hot summer and humid weather.
It was sudden plan so we left in hurry prepared only for kids food. One day trip is great with my three toddlers. If it's prolonged it could be hectic with three toddlers and naughty. Motorway to Islamabad is much better than GT road to any other city. First I was planning to go to Chanab river kinara restaurant but it was rather long and GT is unpleasant. So decided to go for Kallar Kahar and motorway.
We took our lunch on motorway which was fresh and hot chicken broast at Sukheki Services Area. Place was nice and clean and amost everything is available there. Filling up fuel tank and then moving to our destination. Played songs and chit chat with my wife makes me more relax. Kids were making noise too. But as it was Eid, I kept my temper controlled.
Actual joy started when we started our ascending on the mountain area of Kallar Kahar on motorway. It salt range area and has curvy road and dangerous turns. Kids were on the front seat except my elder son. He was moving right to left on back seat of the car. I switched off the AC and the outer air was great. Zig zag road and cool wind refreshed our mind and body. Alhumdolillah, Allah blessed a great family to me. I am obliged of all the blessings of Allah.
Kallar Kahar has some lakes and one is on the exact exit from motorway. But it was filled with nearby people and some from far away cities. The place is not for family specially in such occasions. Roamed the area for a while then left as it was not a good idea to stay there long and waste our time. We reached motorway again and started our journey to Lahore.
I felt, the joy is on the road and not at the destination, is so true. It's because on return the same salt range came and the way I drove the car was a bit scary and joyful too. But we enjoyed it more. Kids, my wife and I was laughing, I was keeping the scariness to me as the controlling the car is not easy on such mountain area with such dangerous curves. We need to go out often to get refresh and a little change. Kids are young so this was the reason we were staying in Lahore most of the time. The last time we went out was January 2017, we went to Sialkot city.
It was late to reach Lahore and to take dinner but enjoyed a lot and will keep it in memories.
